World Bank to Work Out New Strategy for Georgia

Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia (MOF) discussed future cooperation plans with Henry Kerala, World Bank (WB) Country Director for South Caucasus. During the meeting held on January 21 at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia the two sides had talks regarding the ongoing projects and the new initiatives set for future implementation.

“Cooperation with IFIs is very important for Georgia, especially with World Bank. During the meeting we spoke about the future cooperation directions. A number of significant projects are already planned in terms of infrastructure development, and the country’s economic prosperity, in general,” declared the Minister.

In his words, WB confirmed their readiness to work out new strategy for Georgia, which will envision government’s new priorities including social, healthcare and infrastructure directions.

“World Bank representatives pay visits to the Ministry of Finance of Georgia from time to time. It’s important for us to discuss mutual cooperation with Georgia together with the Minister of Finance. I believe very soon we’ll agree main conditions according to which WB and Georgia will continue successful partnership in the coming years,” stated World Bank (WB) Country Director for South Caucasus.
