Will the dismissal of the Chief Prosecutor become an issue? Following the acquittal of Vladimer Bedukadze, the man who recorded the material documenting torture in the Gldani prison, the issue of Archil Kbilashvili’s dismissal has been raised. The Georgian Prime Minister himself has expressed his displeasure, and members of the parliamentary majority support the reviewing of this issue. Mr. Kbilashvili himself has no plans to change his decision. The issue will be discussed in the Parliament today. On his part, the Georgian President has stated that he is willing to sign the document dismissing the Chief Prosecutor, should the new government wish so.
