(CNA)-Wikipedia’s Russian edition has received a new request from the telecoms watchdog Roskomnadzor that its article on cannabis smoking is blacklisted, Digit.ru reported on Wednesday.

In early April, the article was banned and later excluded from the blacklist after editing.

On Tuesday, the administration of Wikipedia’s Russian edition once again received a warning, as the article has the original wording.

According to Russian Wikipedia Director Vladimir Medeiko, a “Smoking Tools” section which drew the watchdog’s attention appeared in the article.

The author of the information and the time that it was posted are unknown.

“Due to the site and its functions, it is impossible to track changes,” Medeiko said.

Alongside the new section, the watchdog’s request contains claims concerning a nearly direct quote from the Federal Service for Drug Control’s website on materials for preparing cannabis-based substances.

Vladimir Pikov, the service’s representative, said the legitimacy of placing such information in the article will be considered separately.

The blacklist of websites was approved on Nov. 1, 2012 and is monitored by Roskomnadzor. It includes above all websites that contain child pornography, and information about how to commit suicide and make drugs. If a website is found to host such information, it might be closed without the order of a court.

According to the rules of register keeping, a site’s management has three days to delete the prohibited information.

Otherwise, the telecom operators will block access to the website in Russia.
