Vanuatu Cancelled its recognition of Abkhazia
(CNA)-As Vanuatu’s Prime Minister Moana Carcasses Kalosil told Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, State of Vanuatu has cancelled its recognition regarding the independence of Georgia`s breakaway region of Abkhazia.
Carcasses said that there was a controversy over the recognition of Georgia’s issue inside the government of their country, but at the recent session of the government its member cancelled the recognition.
“A very serious diplomatic result has been achieved. Prime Minister of Vanuatu has confirmed a while ago, that they changed their decision to recognize Abkhazia and they now recognize the territorial integrity of Georgia and impose diplomatic ties with Georgia. For past 18 months, we did our best to make them change their previous decision. This is the first fact of Russia`s defeat on diplomatic arena and I hope that not the last one,” stated the President.
