Union of Oil Product Enterprisers, Importers and Customers Named SOCAR the Biggest Tax-Payer

The Union of Oil Product Enterprisers, Importers and Customers named SOCAR the biggest tax-payer company. SOCAR paid GEL 150 million in 2010 to State budget. The 7th award ceremony was held at Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel on January 26. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Georgia’s government, Parliament, international organizations and diplomatic corps.
“The Union of Oil Product Enterprisers, Importers and Customers was established after the Rose Revolution. Since then huge effort has been made in terms of the fight against smuggling in oil sector. In 2003 the volume of taxes paid to State budget was around GEL 70 million while today’s indicator hits GEL 420-250 million,” declared Vano Mtvralashvili, Head of the Union of Oil Product Enterprisers, Importers and Customers.
“I hope 2011 will be even more successful and we’ll see more customers coming and more revenues gained and all that can be achieved through launching far better standards,” said Rusudan Kemularia, Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia.

The three Biggest Tax Payers:
Lukoil Georgia, Rompetrol Georgia and the biggest tax-payer- Socar Georgia Petroleum- GEL 150 million.
“During the last few years that we operate in the local market our company has already paid around half a billion Laries to State budget. I believe this figure will go far up and up,” noted Mahir Mamedov, General Director of Socar.
“For the 7th year already we’re given an opportunity to show off our achievements in public and get this honorary award. Oil sector is one of the most successful sectors in Georgia and gets more and more developed every year,” said Shavleg Mishveladze, Lukoil Georgia’s Director General.
“We’ve grown together with the Union of Oil Product Enterprisers, Importers and Customers during the past several years. What we all want to achieve through this partnership is to have a healthy competition in the local market minding business ethics,” stated Vasil Khorava, Director General of Wissol Petroleum Georgia.
Union of Oil Product Enterprisers, Importers and Customers was founded on February13, 2004.
