Why is the production of Khvanchkara to be controlled? Representatives from the National Wine Agency have observed the process of selling the specific sort of grapes during the harvesting process in the Racha region. Plans to study the activities of companies that produce Khvanchkara are also in place. According to an agency spokesman, these moves have become necessary in the light of an increase in the interest to produce this particular sort of wine this year. More than 30 companies are planning to produce Khvanchkara, and the tighter controls aim to improve the quality of the products. The grape harvesting process is set to continue in Racha until the end of the week.
