The Tbilisi Municipal Court’s decision to remove the Mayor of Tbilisi, Gigi Ugulava, from the office and bail him for 50 000 Lari will be appealed at the Court of Appeals, his attorneys have stated today.
The defence team has described the judge Dali Metreveli’s decision as unjustified. The Municipal Court has revoked Mr Ugulava’s right to hold office.
The judge did not agree to the prosecution’s demands to have Mr Ugulava placed under arrest, and set the bail at GEL 50 000.
