How transparent is the work conducted by the Board of Appeals, and under what principles does it operate? The Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri has stated that the Board of Appeals has become considerably more transparent since the change in government. The minister regards the presence of NGO representatives on the board on a 6 month rotational basis as one of the key steps in this direction. Non-governmental organisations have become involved with the Board of Appeals in January this year. Former board member Giorgi Abashishvili has stated that the body has become considerably more proactive and transparent this year, and he also attributes this fact to the influence from non-governmental sector. According to the Finance Ministry, works on reforming the Board of Appeals are continuing.
