The Meeting between Rasmussen and Ivanishvili
Georgia has made great progress in trying to fulfill the targets and satisfy the demands set at the 2008 NATO summit, states the NATO Secretary General.
Anders Fogh Rasmussen has made a statement in this regard at a joint press-conference with Bidzina Ivanishvili. He also states that NATO’s doors are open, and remain open for those countries that fulfill the appropriate criteria.
On his part, the Georgian Prime Minister claims to have “convinced [the Secretary General] that the presidential elections will have a typically European character, which will present the new government’s real nature to the West and the international community once and for all.”
The Prime Minister reckons that such important meetings demonstrate the NATO member states’ support for Georgia.
