The Hottest Cars At The Geneva Auto Show
3/08/2012/
The Geneva Motor Show starts today. Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Maserati and Porsche, to name a few, have ensured there will be plenty of hot cars to go around.
Exhibit A: Lamborghini just unveiled its Aventador J (or say “Jota” if you want to use the Spanish pronunciation of the letter). The one-off roadster has the same 691-horsepower 6.5-liter V-12 engine as the hardtop Aventador. (The car has already been sold to a private collector, for a rumored $2.75 million.)
Bugatti showed the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, a 1,200-horsepower convertible packed with a 8.0-liter, quad-turbocharged W16 engine that tops out at 267 miles per hour. Which makes sense, since vitesse is French for speed.
And Bentley debuted its EXP 9 F concept, an SUV that will likely come standard with a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine. Bentley has said the W12 engine could produce 600bhp and 800 Nm of torque with a top speed and 0-60mph time faster than any SUV on the market today. A 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 and a hybrid drivetrain option on the 8-speed AWD vehicle are possibilities as well.
