In January 2011 the inflation rate in Georgia increased by 2.1 percent since December 2010.The overall index reflects an increase in price level of the following groups of products and services:
Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages: Prices rose by 4.2 percent with the contribution to the overall index equal to 1.85 percentage points. The highest price increase was on the following subgroups: vegetables including potatoes and other tubers – 11.7 percent, fruits and grapes – 8.0percent, sugar and confectionary – 6.2 percent.
