The National Bank has still not reached a verdict on the issue of the mobile network operators ceasing to finance fast payment networks, despite announcing several months ago that it would begin to study the issue. The mobile operators stopped providing financial assistance to the fast payment networks, leading to the introduction of a 4% service commission charge by every network except the Bank of Georgia. Rival fast payment networks have accused the BOG of trying to eliminate its rivals on the market. The President of the National Bank has stated that there are questions to be answered by both the mobile operators and the fast payment networks on this issue.
