Socar Georgia Investment to Invest USD 100 Million in the Construction of a New Factory in Kulevi, Georgia

Azeri Sokar Georgia Investment will construct a new factory in Kulevi, Georgia. The new manufacture will be located on 24 hectares of territory. President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili arrived in the Kulevi industrial zone on September 18, where he attended the beginning of the construction of a new urea refining factory. During the ceremony, Vera Kobalia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia signed a cooperation agreement with the company authorities.

“Opening of such factories will solve employment issue in the country,” declared the President.

1500 people are employed on construction and 300 will be employed in the factory after it begins to operate.

According to Saakashvili during the next 4 years USD 1 billion will be invested in Poti and the city will turn into an industrial center. Next year an airport will be opened there and the port will also be expanded.
