Second Stage of the Universal Health Program

The second stage of the Universal Health Program will only benefit the patients during surgeries and while receiving treatment for cancer. The former advisor to the Health Ministry, and now the head of the Insurance Supervisory Service, Lasha Nikoladze, has told TV3 that the funds allocated for the program will be unable to cover home treatment. Mr. Nikoladze states that the enhanced program will embrace a broad spectrum of urgent cases and pre-planned surgeries, and cover up to a 1000 different kinds of medical attention. It is therefore difficult to specify the nature and the number of medicines that are to be used in the program.
