Investigations are ongoing regarding the Magnati and Senta oil companies. Both have had their petrol stations bought by the Gulf Company. However, owners of both Senta and Magnati have stated that they had been forced to sell their assets against their wishes under the previous government, and are now demanding to have these assets returned to them. The owner of Magnati Jemal Leonidze has told TV3 that the investigation is reaching its final stages, and its verdicts with regards to who will be held responsible in this case are being awaited. Senta’s owner Zaal Iakobashvili has added that a number of meetings have taken place as part of the investigation process, although progress has been slow according to him. The Press Agency at the Prosecutor’s Office has declined to make a comment prior to the completion of the investigation, while the lawyer Dimitri Gabunia, representing Gulf, has claimed that his side have not even been questioned during this process.
