According to Sakstat figures, the volume of direct foreign investment in Georgia during the third financial quarter of 2013 amounted to $239 million, which is 3% more than during the first two quarters of this year, and 20% above the figure for the first three quarters of 2012. A total of $551 million’s worth of direct foreign investment has come into Georgia during the first three quarters of 2013.
The largest share of foreign investments was taken up by the financial sector – $48 million, or 20% of the total investments, followed by the transport and communications sector at $47 million and the energy sector at $33 million.
