How safe is the Tbilisi International Airport? As we reported, the Director General of Airzena has made a statement about safety problems at the airport, which was countered by the head of the Civil Aviation Agency, who was adamant that safety at the airport was not an issue. TV3 has sought to find out whether or not the other airlines are satisfied with the safety situation at the Tbilisi Airport. A spokesman for Pegasus Airlines has stated that to the company’s knowledge, the Tbilisi airspace is perfectly safe, and that Pegasus flights have never experienced any problems in Georgia. Similarly, the Director General of Fly Georgia states that the airspace is safe, but adds that TAV employs unqualified staff.
TAV themselves have stated earlier that the Tbilisi Airport airspace is completely safe.
