Relations with Russia

In an interview with the head of the Moscow bureau of Voice of America, Bidzina Ivanishvili has stated that everything that could have been achieved with regards to improving Russian-Georgian relations within a short period of time, has been achieved. The Prime Minister spoke about the restoration of the trade relations between the two countries. He also spoke of the possibility of having regular flights scheduled once again, and having the visa restrictions for Georgian citizens simplified, or even lifted. In response to the question as to when he might meet President Putin, Mr. Ivanishvili has stated that the prospect of this happening is neither distant, nor close. According to the Prime Minister, there are currently no grounds for holding such a meeting.
