Up to 850 000 citizens in need of social support, and queues outside the Liberty Bank branches – why do pensioners have to wait in long queues in order to obtain their funds? Beneficiaries have once again come to collect their increased pensions from the Liberty Bank service centres and ATMs this month. According to them, they had to wait for at least half an hour to collect their funds. In response, Giorgi Kakachia – the head of the Health Ministry Social Department – has stated that the long queues are a logical consequence of the fact that the majority of the beneficiaries chooses to collect funds directly from the bank cashiers, being unaware of the alternative methods of obtaining the funds.
