Around 20 000 appeals received, investigation of up to 100 cases started on 200 objects,- Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia continues investigation of property deprivation issues. According to the official information, because of the big number of cases the investigation process takes long. More concretely, suspects already have been revealed in some cases and are sent to court.
Businessmen disagree with the accusations. As Mamia Sanadiradze, former owner of Caucasus Online, told TV3, government has no political will to closely investigate the cases. In his words, they’ve met with government and non-government organizations, but in vain. Sanadiradze says street demonstrations may be held to protest the above-mentioned processes.
