Progress Bank, owned by Kakha Kaladze, is planning to expand next year. The bank’s director Konstantine Sulamanidze has told TV3 that acquisition of new products is taking place at this stage. The bank will also start issuing plastic cards which can be used at its terminals. Progress Bank customers will be able to use the cards in a month’s time. Telephone banking service will also be introduced in the near future. The bank is not planning to open any new branches in 2013. The percentage rates for its long term savings accounts have fallen from 15.5% to 13.5% per annum, which, according to Mr. Sulamanidze, has been caused by surplus funds on the market.
