Election campaigning is set to begin in Georgia once again. The presidential elections will take on 31 October. The date of the elections has been changed by the President’s Office, who had initially announced 27 October as the day of the vote. According to the Election Code, campaigning begins following the official announcement of the date of the elections by the President’s Office. It is already certain that Giorgi Margvelashvili will be running for the office on behalf of the Georgian Dream coalition, while the United National Movement will select its candidate through Primaries. Also joining the campaign will be the former acting President Nino Burjanadze, and Shalva Natelashvili of the Labour Party. The non-parliamentary opposition is likely to present Paata Burchuladze as its candidate.
