President of GCCI to Hold Official Meetings at EUROCHAMBRES in Brussels

Kakha Baindurashvili, the President of Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) pays a visit to Brussels due to the invitation from EUROCHAMBRES.

President of GCCI held official meetings with the Arnaldo Abruzzini, Secretary General of EUROCHAMBRES and Dirk Vantyghem, Director for International Affairs at EUROCHAMBRES.

Future cooperation plans, targeted at helping Georgian companies find partners in Europe and develop export potential, were discussed during the meeting.

Topics discussed also covered Georgia’s more intensive involvement in European Union projects, in particular East-Invest 2, the project planned in the frame of the Eastern Partnership initiative. East-Invest is implemented by the EUROCHAMBRES consortium. It’s a 3-yearproject (2010-2013). Project partners are chambers of commerce of Eastern Partnership countries (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus) and business unions. National coordinator of the project in Georgia is GCCI.

In the frame of the above-mentioned project, holding of a large-scale investment forum is planned in Georgia, which will be attended by the representatives from the project partner chambers of commerce and business delegations. From Georgian side, the forum participants will be the representatives from local companies and government officials. The official part of the forum will be oriented at sharing information about the country’s economic environment and investment potential; sector seminars and workshops will be conducted. Bilateral meetings will be held with the representatives from Georgian and European companies.

EUROCHAMBRES is the European Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industryuniting Chambers of Commerce from entire Europe (In total, 200 organizations, the number of member companies of which exceeds 22 million). EUROCHAMBRES is the sole European body that serves the interests of every sector and every size of European business; actively cooperates with European Commission and other international organizations. GCCI is an affiliate member of EUROCHAMBRES.
