Preliminary Court Session in the Agriculture Ministry Case

A preliminary session will take place today at the Tbilisi civil court in the case of former senior employees of the Agriculture Ministry. Seven of the nine arrested former employees have already been released on bail, while two remain in detention. The prosecution will today ask the remaining two to be bailed as well, since the investigation has been concluded, and there is no longer a danger of intimidation of witnesses, or any other interference in the case. The former Agriculture Ministry employees are being charged with embezzling millions of Lari in State funds. The former Minister of Agriculture Davit Kervalidze has been questioned on several occasions during the case.
