In what way could military operations against Syria affect Georgia? According to the National Statistics Centre data, direct investments from Syria exceeded $2 million during the first quarter of 2013, which represents a tenfold increase compared to the same period last year. According to the Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri, while stable economic relations are important with any country, at this stage he does not have any specific information about the financial ties to Syria. Equally, the Minister of the Economy Giorgi Kvirikashvili has declined to make a comment, also citing lack of information as the reason.
