The Tax Service has responded to a recent incident at the Eliava Market at an emergency press conference. The company Kukulesi was penalised for a second time for transporting goods without an invoice, proceeding to threaten Tax Service employees in response.
The head of the Tax Service Public Relations Department Khatia Moistsrapishvili has stated that the weakening of the administration of taxes will not be allowed to take place. She has described the incident as an attempt to blackmail the State. Violations of this kind are subject to a GEL 500 fine in the first instance, and a GEL 5000 penalty in a repeat case.
