  • MOF to Close the 1st Month of 2011 with Profit Budget

    Ministry of Finance of Georgia (MOF) closed the very first month of 2011 with profit budget. Georgia’s Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili assessed the budget accomplishing indicators on February 1.

    “January of 2011 was closed with impressive fiscal results compared to the same period in previous years. In general, economic activity is not that big because of the climate conditions and natural factors, however, this year we see the situation proved to be good enough,” declared the Finance Minister.

  • Tbilisi to Host a Regional Discussion on Climate Change Issues The COMMERCIAL TIMES

    Tbilisi hosted a regional discussion about the climate change trends in the South Caucasus and common concerns of the three regional countries.
    The workshop was organised by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Georgian Ministry for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, and attended by the leading national experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, international consultants and representatives of UNDP in all three South Caucasus states.
    Speaking at the opening of the seminar on February 1, Giorgi Zedginidze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Georgia, stressed the importance of regional cooperation to overcome climate change risks.
