The number of passengers using the Georgian railways has increased over the summer season. According to the Georgian Railways spokesman Dachi Tsaguria, the number of passengers travelling to Batumi and Poti has increased to 12 000 during the summer. He sees the addition of new, more comfortable trains as one of the reasons for the increase. There are currently 3 new trains – equipped with wireless internet and other modern equipment – operating within the national railway system.
