The Deputy Energy Minister Ilia Eloshvili has told TV3 that if the energy tariffs were to be reduced, the businesses would be likely to consume more electricity than before. This could place too much pressure on the power grid, and lead to blackouts.
In contrast, the Director of Bread Factory Nr.4 Malkhaz Dolidze has told TV3 that lowering the utility bills for businesses is essential. According to him, businesses elsewhere in the world pay less for communal services than the general population.
The issue of lowering utility bills for businesses was also raised at a recent meeting between the Prime Minister and the experts.
