Have the commercial banks reviewed their advertising strategy? The President of the National Bank had told the representatives of Georgian banks at a meeting back in May about the need to introduce new rules regarding video commercials. The President of the Association of Banks Zurab Gvasalia has told TV3 that the commercials are gradually starting to correspond to reality. Mr. Gvasalia has made it clear that it is in the interests of each bank and their image not to mislead the customers.
The IliaUni Business Review researcher Giorgi Abashishvili has stated that the National Bank should be more specific about its demands. According to him, it is necessary for the commercial banks to be given clear criteria according to which the truthfulness of their commercials will be assessed.
