New Manufacturing Enterprises in Georgian Provinces
According to the Manager of the Agriculture Ministry’s 1 billion GEL-strong Development Fund, the Cheap Agricultural Loans project will see the establishment of at least one new enterprise in almost every region in Georgia. This statement comes four months since the program was initiated. The project consists of three components, one of which provides for loans of up to 1 million GEL for the purposes of creating new manufacturing enterprises and building new farms. According to the fund’s Manager, over 60 million GEL have already been distributed, 33 million GEL of which have gone to the program’s second component, and 16 million GEL to the third. Which specific manufacturers have taken out the loans, is not revealed by the Agricultural Development Fund for reasons of confidentiality.
