Will the new Labour Code be reviewed? The new code came into force on 4 July. However, there followed an endless stream of complaints about the legislation. Lasha Akhaladze, the Chairman of the Georgian Business Association Employment Commission, has stated that a trilateral commission – composed of representatives from the business sector, the trade unions and the government – will work on resolving some of the most controversial aspects of the code.
The Chairman of the United Trade Unions Irakli Petriashvili has told TV3 that the new Labour Code will definitely be reviewed. According to him, the issues which require revision include indefinite contracts, nightshift salaries, discriminating work, and others.
