At what stage is the investigation into the Centre Point case? The Prosecutor General Archil Kbilashvili has told TV3 that aside from the specific charges brought against the company’s owners several months ago, the investigators are also studying other episodes in the case. According to him, the main issue in this case is to compensate clients for the damages that they’ve suffered.
Centre Point co-founder Vakhtang Rcheulishvili has stated that the focus of the investigation has been on the reasons for customers being unable to obtain the properties that they had paid for. According to him, details of the deal between the company Dexus and the Tbilisi Mayor’s Office have already emerged in the case. Since reclaiming its assets, Centre Point has been unable to obtain permission from the Mayor’s Office to resume construction works on eight of its units. According to Mr. Rcheulishvili, the properties that have had lien placed upon them also present an obstacle in the process of registering flats in the clients’ names, but the issue could be resolved very soon through cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office.
