New accusations have been aimed against Vano Merabishvili. According to a statement released by the National Audit Service, the company Algorithm, owned by Mr. Merabishvili’s friend Giorgi Korakhashvili, was selling its products to the Ministry with a 30% surcharge. While examining the central apparatus, the Audit Service has uncovered several irregularities. They conclude that certain purchases were made from private companies using a simplified ‘shortcut route.’ In total, 1 660 000 GEL have been spent excessively by the Ministry. The documents have been passed on to the law enforcement agencies for investigation.
