New cottages will be built for internally displaced persons in Tskaltubo. According to the IDP, Accommodation and Refugees Minister Davit Darakhvelidze, the construction of 35 cottages has been financed by the Swiss Development Agency, while the ministry itself has contributed 100 000 GEL from its budget to provide sewage system and external communications for the cottages. Mr. Darakhvelidze adds that the construction of another 2 housing units for 66 families is being planned.
Up until now, the IDPs in Tskaltubo had been residing in old wooden cottages, some of which are badly damaged. The project to provide them with new accommodation has been a joint effort by the Ministry of IDPs, Accommodation and Refugees, and the Swiss Development Agency.
