The National Food Agency has begun carrying out checks on the companies producing ice cream. A spokesman for the NFA has stated that the inspection process will only create discomfort to those companies which struggle to maintain the necessary standards of hygiene. The Agency admits that the State is paying particularly close attention to the type of products for which there exists a high demand within the public, with ice cream being immensely popular during the summer season.

Gurjaani Ice Cream and Barambo have publicly stated that the inspection process is not creating any discomfort to them. On the contrary, the claim that the process will identify clearly establish which companies deserve being on the market.
