Ministry of Finance of Georgia to Open a New Training Complex of MOF Academy

Ministry of Finance of Georgia opened a new training complex of MOF Academy on February 14. The project was supported by donor organizations. The training complex, with the capacity of 160 trainees, was opened by Dimitri Gvindadze, the Minister of Finance of Georgia and Sergo Nozadze, the Director of the Academy. The event was attended by the representatives of Diplomatic Corps accredited to Georgia and international organizations.

New complex of MOF Academy is a modern standard training center having no analogue in Georgia. The complex consists of auditoriums, language and computer centers. MOF Academy employs high qualified trainers.

MOF Academy has already worked out 2012 tuition program. The Academy cooperates with different international organizations in terms of organizing joint teaching courses. Currently, the Ministry of Finance of Georgia actively works together with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and in May IMF will launch Financial Programming and Policies (FPP) teaching course first time this year.

“In addition to the FPP course by IMF, several other teaching courses will be launched at MOF Academy this year. This way we manage to create a new dimension for interaction between the staff and the Ministry. The Ministry of Finance of Georgia is committed to train its staff as well as the employees of other state bodies and private structures,” declared the Minister of Finance of Georgia.

“MOF Academy offers best options for developing professional skills, raising qualification and getting excellent education. The Diplomatic Corps accredited to Georgia already granted the complex a status of the Future Academy,” said the Director of the Academy.

In addition to theoretical studies, MOF Academy offers practical tuition as well. Priority directions include: public finances and micro-fiscal policy, budgetary policy and administration, tax policy, accountancy, management and professional skills.

Currently MOF Academy runs internal trainings for 324 employees. This year over 7000 staff members will be trained in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and E-Treasury programmes.
