At what stage are the investigations into the cases of businessmen who had their properties confiscated under the previous government? The Minister of the Economy and Deputy Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has told TV3 that due to the complicated nature of the case, a final decision has not been made yet. According to him, the new government began studying the cases in question straight after coming to power, but the volume of the cases, as well as the projected compensation costs, have meant that decisions require time.
The Prime Minister has often spoken about the need to find a political and judicial solution to the case, and has stated the total cost to the State could reach the GEL 6 billion mark.
