Minister of Agriculture Comments on the Moratorium on Land Sales

The problem of accountability of agricultural lands, and a disorganised database – the Minister of Agriculture Shalva Pipia has commented on the issue of changing the designation of land plots, and stated that the moratorium on the sale of agricultural lands will not create a problem with regards to foreign investment.
Last week, the Parliament introduced a legislation limiting changes to the status of land plots, thereby overcoming the President’s veto with a 91 to 9 vote.
