The companies Wissol and Socar are planning to open ‘mini town’ service centres along the route of the main motorway, near Terjola and Samtredia, similar to those that they are already operating near Gori. The Road Department sees such projects as an example of a good relationship between the State and the private sector, as there are no exclusive rights on the construction of the ‘mini towns,’ and any company can open one if they so wish.
According to the information from the Road Department, no other company has expressed a desire to construct ‘mini towns’ so far. Any interested parties will participate in tenders announced by the department. Under the previous government, Wissol and Socar had exclusive rights to construct such service centres along the main motorway
