MIA to Review Traffic Violation Fines

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has stated that it is willing to review the size of the fines for traffic violations, and will present its initiatives to the government and the Parliament. The Prime Minister recently told Irakli Gharibashvili to provide a public statement and justification for GEL 100 fines for speeding. According to the MIA statement, the introduction of additional traffic signs and speed limitations during the last year has reduced the number of road deaths by 60%.
