Are the houses built at the time of the so-called ‘housing boom’ of an adequate quality? Tamaz Avdaliani, the head of the parliamentary commission tasked with examining matters in the construction sector, has made a controversial statement, according to which some houses that were built in recent years are in a real danger of collapse. According to Mr. Avdaliani, construction was frequently carried out quickly and cheaply at the expense of the quality of the work, although he has refrained from naming specific companies.
Tamaz Avdaliani states that the current government plans to establish special funds which will be tasked with strengthening housing units.
