Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has questioned Theo Walcott’s commitment to the club as speculation about the winger’s future continues.

Walcott, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is believed to be a January transfer target for Liverpool, while Chelsea, Manchester City, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring his contract situation at Emirates Stadium.

Wenger recently told the 23-year-old that he has until Christmas to make a decision about his future, although he insists a January sale will not happen – even if the England international has failed to agree a contract extension by end of the year.

Walcott earlier this week stated he is in no rush to sign a new deal, and does not believe the saga is affecting his form on the pitch.

But the Frenchman does not agree with the forward, and is keen for his future to be resolved either way.

“It is very important in our sport to be very committed to where you are, and as long as you do not do that, you are not completely at ease,” Wenger said.

“It is important for our squad as well that he is completely committed. I do not doubt it, but as well at some stage it has to be concrete.

“Ideally, he has to commit. It is difficult. I believe you have to commit at some stage.

“If it is not sorted out, we will still be sitting here talking about it in January.”
