IN the Premier Division Old Xaverians are setting the pace with another win.

They accounted for Roma 3-2 thanks to a Neil Maguire double and a Dave Faulkner effort in the dying minutes, after Roma thought they had grabbed a point through a Dave Cooney penalty and a John Smith strike.

Page Celtic moved into second place after a fantastic 5-1 victory over East Villa. Kevin Fisher got two goals, including a long-range screamer. David Moore also grabbed a brace with a single from James Croxton. Villa replied through Steve Mellon.

Waterloo Dock were held to a 1-1 draw by a hardworking South Sefton Borough after a Kevin Riley effort was cancelled out by Graham Swindles.

Aigburth PH were also surprise losers to Stoneycroft who have started well back in the Premier Division winning 5-3 with Mike Kinney and Baker amongst the goals for Stoneycroft.

Red Rum are cruising after a 2-0 home win over REMYCA United thanks to a Thomas Rooney brace.

West Everton Xavier’s grabbed their first points in the division with a narrow 3-2 away win at Liverpool North; Edwards, Dunn & Williams were all on the score sheet for West Everton whilst Oliver and Owens replied for North.

In the First Division Kingsley are the pacesetters after a 9-1 demolition over Collegiate OB was confirmed by a Welch hat trick aided by Fearon who grabbed two.

Allerton enjoyed a 5-1 win over Leyfield, Mc Knight and Steve Parle both got doubles, while BRNESC shared the spoils 3-3 with Edge Hill and Copperas Hill recorded a 4-2 home win over Lucas Sports.

Alder celebrated their first win in Division One, 2-1 at Alumni, Chris McCabe and Mick Hutching scoring.
