A “CRAZY finish to a crazy season” was how Roberto Mancini perfectly summed it up as Manchester City won the league title for the first time in 44 years with the most dramatic final-day finish in history.

The title looked to be heading to Manchester United as the game moved into injury-time at the Etihad stadium, with Queens Park Rangers 2-1 up and Sir Alex Ferguson’s side winning 1-0 at Sunderland.
Then Edin Dzeko equalised and Sergio Aguero banged in the winner to spark the most amazing scenes.
And if that was not enough drama, QPR also celebrated wildly as a late Stoke equaliser sent Bolton down.
Emotional City boss Mancini, draped in an Italian flag, said: “With five minutes to go I didn’t think we could win this game. But I hoped always that Sunderland could score a goal and draw.

“It was a crazy finish for a crazy season. I have never seen a final day like this. It was terrible at that moment but it was incredible because we deserved to score three or four goals.
“The best team won the title. We played the best football, conceded less goals, scored more goals and beat United two times.
“I am very proud for my players because they wanted to win this title.
“They worked hard for this, they wanted to win this title until the last second of the last game. We changed the history of this club. We should be proud.”
City skipper Vincent Kompany said: “Miracles do happen in Manchester but on this side of the road this time. It’s one big blur for me, I just remember jumping on top of Sergio when he scored.”
