Koba Davitashvili has listed the blocking of his economic initiatives as some of the reasons for him leaving the parliamentary majority. The head of the People’s Party left the Georgian Dream Coalition last weekend. According to Mr. Davitashvili, while the new government is generally supportive of business development, it holds erroneous positions on certain issues, such as the new Labour Code, the food safety legislation, the issue of mortgages, and the contract extensions for banks and insurance companies.
Mr. Davitashvili adds that the private sector is not lacking protection and support in either the Parliament or the government, but the interests of the population as a whole are not protected.
