Kakha Kaladze Met with the Representatives of State Bank of India and Trans Electrica

(CNA)-Kakha Kaladze, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia met with the representatives of State Bank of India and Trans Electrica- Khudon Hydro power plant investor.
The project implementation details were discussed during the meeting. State Bank of India is interested in funding the Khudon Hydro power plant project. The delegation is visiting Tbilisi to learn financial risks of the project, after which the State Bank of India will make a decision regarding loan allocation.
During the meeting with the minister the delegation got interested in the new government’s vision in respect to the project implementation. State Bank of India plans to finance 70% investment amount of the Khudon Hydro power plant project.
The project envisions the construction of 702 megawatt hydro power plant at the Enguri river in Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti region. Investment value of the peoject is USD 1,125 billion.
