After winning a court case against the Adjara Casino, the businessman Iva Chighvinidze is expected to receive 2.5 million USD from the current owner of the casino Davit Iakobashvili. The case concerned an investment which Mr. Chighvinidze had made into the casino in 2009, which had been formalised as a loan. The businessman demanded to have the unlawfully appropriated funds returned to him. Mr. Chighvinidze has told TV3 that the current owner of Adjara Casino only had until today to appeal the court’s verdict. Upon the closure of the current case, Mr. Chighvinidze plans to investigate the Ibisi Supermarket case, and to have this business returned to him too.
