“All varieties of vodka produced in Georgia have been inspected and were found not to pose any dangers to the consumers” – the National Food Agency has made this statement in response to the article published by the Russian language internet portal Business Georgia, which questioned the quality of Georgia vodka. The NFA spokesman Kakha Sokhadze has told TV3 that all Georgian companies manufacturing vodka have been inspected, and were found not to breach any norms.
The article on the Russian internet portal had claimed that the majority of the Georgian vodka products posed health risks to consumers. According to the author of the article, many of the products taste of acetone and would not withstand any scrutiny. The vodka manufacturing companies have declined to comment on the issue.
