Will a new $250 million metallurgical plant be built at the Poti harbour? According to the construction firm’s advisor, the investors have sent all the appropriate documentation to the Ministry of the Economy, and are now awaiting a response from the State. According to the Minister of the Economy Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the investor has not agreed to the terms offered by the ministry. He adds that several potential investors have shown interest for the project, and should an agreement not be reached with the Turkish company, then another business group will be ready to step in.
The construction of the $250 million metallurgical plant in Poti was one of the first investment projects announced by the new government following last year’s parliamentary elections.
